How to Get and Equip Pets in Mine a Planet (Roblox)
Mine a Planet pets, frame by frame from July 2026 footage (updated 2026-09-09): faint the alien with the Laser Pistol, throw the right Alien Ball, then put the catch to work on a dock.
Last updated: 2026-09-09
Pets in Mine a Planet are not rolled, they are caught: you lock a wild alien with the Laser Pistol, shoot it until its HP bar drops, throw an Alien Ball whose odds the game prints for every single throw, and then put the catch to work on a dock. This walkthrough follows one two-minute July 2026 clip by VendoPlus; every quoted string and price below was read straight off the screen, and each caption deep-links to the exact second. One limit to know up front: the recording demonstrates the throw but never completes a catch, so nothing here invents catch results — the 19-of-30 pet roster and the index numbers live on the pets page.

Spot a wild alien and tap to lock
Wild aliens wander the base with a despawn countdown in square brackets over their heads. At 0:29 the red alien Salamino Pinguino carries [04:15], the trait line "5% Drone Mutate / 20m" and the rarity "Common" — and a green Lirili Larila, one of the 19 pets named on our pets page, is wandering the same platform. With the Laser Pistol equipped in hotbar slot 1, the crosshair over the alien reads "Tap to lock", and the pistol's tooltip states its double job: "Hold to fire your laser to mine ore or faint aliens." The bracket timer is the flee timer the pets page documents; this clip never shows an alien despawn, so the countdown's effect stays documented elsewhere, not demonstrated here.

That bracket number ticks down in real time — the same alien reads [04:02] at 0:42.Watch at 0:29 - 2
Shoot until the HP bar drops
Hold fire and the green bar under "Common" starts falling: 131 max, around 121/131 at 0:37 and 114/131 at 0:42. Two things happen as you engage: the nameplate grows an "Ownership : YOU" tag (visible from 0:36 — what the tag implies beyond this fight is never shown), and the game flashes an "Upgrade your laser for more damage" banner. The recording never reaches zero HP on camera — it switches to the ball with the alien still above 110 — so how long a faint takes depends on your Laser Pistol level, which is exactly what the banner is nudging you to raise.

The damage grind on camera: 131 HP at 0:29, 121 at 0:37, 114 by 0:42 — never zero.Watch at 0:37 - 3
Switch to the Common Alien Ball
Select hotbar slot 2 and the game prints its whole catching rulebook in one tooltip: "Throw it at a wild alien to catch it. Higher tiers catch rarer aliens. Shoot it with your laser first — a fainted alien is 2x easier to catch!" Aiming mode announces itself with "Unequip Common Alien Ball to exit aiming mode" under the crosshair. The creator's loadout is worth a glance too: Common Alien Ball x3, Strong Battery x6 and one Super Alien Treat — the same treat the BETABETA code grants on our codes list.

The only place the game states the catch rules in full — everything else on this page is reading numbers off the UI.Watch at 0:40 - 4
Read the live catch chance, then throw
In aiming mode the game anchors a yellow prompt to the alien you are facing: "Throw Ball — 35% Catch Chance" on the green Boneca Ambalabu ("Common • Small", +3% Ore Cash) at 0:39, rising to 38% at 0:40. The number moves between those two frames and the clip never shows what shifts it, so the only safe advice is the one the pets page repeats: read the figure on your screen before you commit the ball. And note the recording's honest limit — no ball ever leaves the hand on camera (the counter stays x3 through 0:54), so the catch roll itself is never demonstrated.

Two seconds apart the same prompt reads 35% and 38% — treat every percentage as per-throw, not per-pet.Watch at 0:42 - 5
Gear Shop: restock clock, and a claim to check yourself
The narration says you can get the ball "from the Gear Shop" as well as from the Alien Pets shop. On camera, though, the Gear Shop visit at 0:45-0:50 lists only support items: Normal Battery ("2x Mining Boost for 5m.", STOCK: 5) at $500K and a sold-out Clean CPU chip at $1M, above a footer reading "Restocks in 3:58" with a Restock button priced at 49 tokens. Whether balls ever appear in that rotation is not shown — check your own server before counting on it. The verifiable part is the structure: one shop-wide countdown, per-row stock badges, and a paid shortcut to skip the wait.

The narration's Gear Shop ball claim is not visible in this frame's stock — batteries and chips only.Watch at 0:48 - 6
Alien Pets shop: the ball ladder
The dedicated pet stall is where the balls actually show up. At 0:51 the Alien Pets panel lists Rare Alien Ball — "Capsule for catching wild aliens. Better catch chance than Common." — at $120M, and Epic Alien Ball — "...Better catch chance than Rare." — at $1B, both OUT OF STOCK on this visit. Every row carries its own stock badge, token prices (Rare: 99 for x1, 999 for x10) and x1 / x10 bulk buttons, over the shared "Restocks in 3:54" bar. This is one visit on one server in July 2026: treat the figures as screen readings, not a price sheet.

Every row pairs a cash price with a token price and x1 / x10 bulk buttons.Watch at 0:51 - 7
Legendary ball in stock — and what treats do
Scroll down at 0:54 and the ladder tops out: Legendary Alien Ball — "Best catch chance." — at $75B, STOCK: 1, with token buttons at 799 / 7,999. Beside it sit the treats: Super Alien Treat "+30% Stat Boost for 7m." at $20B (OUT OF STOCK, 349 / 3,499 tokens), and one scroll earlier at 0:52 a Prismatic Alien Treat "+50% Stat Boost for 9m." at $250B. The shop never says which stats the boost touches — that boundary is the shop's, not ours. Treats are timed consumables, matching how our codes page describes the BETABETA reward.

A Prismatic Alien Treat (+50% for 9m, $250B) sits one row above this frame at 0:52.Watch at 0:54 - 8
Put the catch to work on a dock
A caught pet earns nothing until it stands somewhere, and standing spots are docks. The clip demonstrates the flow with drones: a green "Drone removed" banner at 1:35, the Snippy McSnap card open ($865/ore, with $541, REMOVE and RECALL buttons), then an "E Place Drone" prompt on an empty dock while the selected hotbar drone reads "Bumble Buggy — Tap a dock to deploy it." The pets page documents that deployed pets pay a platform earnings boost plus a global skill from the same kind of dock — but this recording never places a pet on camera, so the pet-side numbers stay on that page.

The hotbar tooltip says it all: tap a dock to deploy.Watch at 1:35 - 9
Unlock more docks with cash
Docks are not free real estate. At 1:45 an "Unlock Dock" panel prices the next platform at $372 with a yellow UNLOCK button, and a green "Unlocked" banner confirms the purchase; another dock earlier in the same run prices at $972. The creator's takeaway matches the screen: unlock "a lot of platforms... this could really help a lot." Two price points are not a pricing curve — later docks clearly cost more, but how the scale grows is unknown from this clip.

More docks mean more standing slots — for drones now, for pets once a catch lands.Watch at 1:45
Mine a Planet pet-catching FAQ
Do Alien Balls guarantee a catch?
No — the game prints odds on every throw. With a Common ball the prompt read "35% Catch Chance" at 0:39 and 38% at 0:40, and both targets were Common-tier aliens. Ball tiers only shift the odds in your favour: the shop descriptions promise "Better catch chance than Common" (Rare), "...than Rare" (Epic) and "Best catch chance" (Legendary), and the ball tooltip adds "a fainted alien is 2x easier to catch!". There is no catch-rate table anywhere in this footage — the number on your screen while you aim is the only one that applies.
Where do you get Alien Balls?
Two sources are named. The Alien Pets stall visibly sells them: Rare at $120M, Epic at $1B and Legendary at $75B (0:51-0:54), each described as a "Capsule for catching wild aliens", with x1/x10 token prices and a shop-wide "Restocks in" countdown — on this visit Rare and Epic were OUT OF STOCK and Legendary showed STOCK: 1. The creator's narration also names the Gear Shop, but the Gear Shop stock this clip shows at 0:48 contains only batteries and CPU chips. All figures are screen readings from one July 2026 visit; your server's stock may differ.
Can you trade pets with other players?
Unknown from this footage. At 0:49 the recording opens a "Select Player" panel through the E Trade prompt at the Alien Pets stall, and the narration hints at swapping pets for better stats — but no trade is completed and nothing on screen states which pets or tiers can move between players. Treat pet trading as unconfirmed until a source shows a completed trade.
What are the alien index rewards?
This clip never opens the Index, so per-slot pet index rewards are unknown from this footage. What the site can document: the pet index has 30 slots with 19 pets named so far (the pets page has the table), and a separate July 2026 clip's REVENUE panel shows a "Pet Index +25%" line beside Drone Index and Mutation Index bonuses — that recording never opens the Pets tab either, so treat +25% as one observed number, not a confirmed table. Filling slots is collection-side; the money side of a pet starts when it stands on a dock.
