Mine a Planet Mutations List — CPU Chips, Index Values & Weather
Documented from dated 2026-07/08 footage: the in-game index reads 6/6, values run Blizzard 1.35x to JellyFish 3.25x, plus chip prices and what stays unknown.

Mutations explained — what the footage shows
A Mine a Planet mutation is a CPU chip you apply to a drone. The developer has published no patch notes, so everything here is read from dated gameplay footage and labeled by evidence level — see our sources and method for what earns an “observed” tag. In July 2026 footage the in-game Index to Mutations panel reads “Mutations Discovered 6/6 (100%)”, so six applying mutations are documented; that is a discovered count, not a confirmed cap. The panel prints a value multiplier for each, running from Blizzard at 1.35x up to JellyFish at 3.25x, but it never labels which number that multiplier acts on. The only on-screen explanation of what a mutation does is the weather banner “Drones can mutate - up to 3x value!”. Those two figures (3x on the banner, 3.25x on the panel) do not line up, so this page shows both and does not pick one. Version context lives on the updates page.
- Documented chips (observed, 2026-07): Clean, Blizzard, Ion, Solar Flare, RadioActive, UFO and JellyFish CPU chips. The six applying ones are the mutations; Clean only removes.
- The Gear Shop sells chips for cash and gems, restocks on a timer, and its shelf can sell out.
- Weather and incidents run as two separate on-screen countdowns (WEATHER and INCIDENT), not one combo name.
- BETA 10 mutation crafting was officially teased, but no recipe has appeared in footage, so it stays reported rather than confirmed — tracked on updates.
- Prices and multipliers are 2026-07/08 readings and can change between versions.
Chips are consumables, and that changes everything
Mutations are spent rather than owned. You buy a CPU chip in the Gear Shop, apply it to a drone, and the effect belongs to that drone from then on. The Clean CPU chip is the exception in purpose: its in-game description reads “Removes a mutation from a drone.”, so it takes a mutation off rather than putting one on. In one demonstration a removed chip did not reappear in the backpack afterwards — an observed behavior, not an on-screen refund notice, so we describe it as a demo rather than a stated rule. What still cannot be read is the size of the effect: the Index shows a value multiplier per mutation (1.35x through 3.25x) but never says what it multiplies, and this site will not guess. See our method for why a blank here is deliberate. The click-through itself — weather banner, Gear Shop stock timer, then tapping a drone dock — is broken down frame by frame in the mutation walkthrough guide.
- You buy a chip with cash or gems in the Gear Shop and apply it to a drone; it is a consumable, not inventory.
- The Clean CPU chip only removes a mutation (in-game: “Removes a mutation from a drone.”); the other six documented chips each apply one.
- Removing a mutation did not return the chip in footage, but no refund message is shown on screen — so we call it observed behavior, not a confirmed rule.
- The Index lists a value multiplier per mutation (1.35x Blizzard to 3.25x JellyFish) but never names the stat it applies to, so no per-chip cash figure is listed here.
Mutations list — every documented CPU chip (observed 2026-07)
| Chip | In-game effect | Index value | Observed price (cash / gems) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Clean CPU chip | “Removes a mutation from a drone.” | not a mutation (removes one) | $1M / 36 (Blayv 2026-07-17) · $500K / 29 (VendoPlus 2026-07-21) |
| Blizzard CPU chip | “Applies the Blizzard Mutation.” | 1.35x | $10M / 72 (single source, 2026-07-17) |
| Ion CPU chip | “Applies the Ion Mutation.” | 1.75x | $750M / 135 (two sources agree, 2026-07) |
| Solar Flare CPU chip | “Applies the Solar Flare Mutation.” | 2x | $1B / 157 (two sources, 2026-07) |
| RadioActive CPU chip | “Applies the Radioactive Mutation.” | 2.25x | $10B / 180 (two sources, 2026-07) |
| UFO CPU chip | “Applies the UFO Mutation.” | 3x | $100B / 360 (two sources, 2026-07) |
| JellyFish CPU chip | “Applies the Jellyfish Mutation.” | 3.25x | $500B cash (2 sources agree) / 540 gems (Blayv 07-17) or 640 gems (ItzVexo 07-18) — cash is cross-checked, the gem price is one reading per clip |
Weather and incidents — what is actually on screen
| On screen | What it means | Evidence (observed) |
|---|---|---|
| “Solar Flare + UFO Started!” banner | A weather (Solar Flare) and an incident (UFO) opening in the same window, shown as one banner — not a single combo name. | Blayv 2026-07-17, ~54s |
| Two separate countdowns | WEATHER and INCIDENT each run their own timer on the same screen; there is no “Ion Storm + UFO” combo label in any frame we checked. | VendoPlus 2026-07-21 ~45s · NacreousSkyGames 2026-08-26 ~242s |
| “Drones can mutate - up to 3x value!” | The only on-screen statement of what a mutation does. The Index separately reads up to 3.25x, so both figures are shown and left unreconciled. | Blayv 2026-07-17, ~54s |
| “UFO Shards 3/10” collection | Incidents drop a 10-shard progress track; what ten shards grant is unknown. | VendoPlus ~45s · NacreousSkyGames ~446s |
| Daily Rewards Day 5 = Solar Flare CPU | A second documented way to obtain a chip besides the Gear Shop. | NacreousSkyGames 2026-08-26, ~468s |
| Mutation crafting | Officially teased for BETA 10; no recipe has been seen in footage, so it is recorded as reported, not confirmed. | See the Updates page (reported) |
How to decide which drone gets a chip
- 1Check the drone's rarity in the Drone Index first — a chip burned on a drone you are about to reroll is spent for good.
- 2Choose by the multiplier the Index actually prints: Blizzard 1.35x up to JellyFish 3.25x. That is the on-screen number, not a rumor.
- 3Because the site never reads what the multiplier acts on, treat any claimed cash-per-minute gain as unverified and measure it on your own save.
- 4Remember the Clean CPU chip only removes a mutation, and in footage removing did not hand the chip back — do not assume swapping chips out is free.
- 5Fill the mutation Index toward its milestones: the panel shows +5% / +10% / +15% / +25% cash at 25/50/75/100%, so +25% is the top tier, not the only one.
