Planet Evolution Planner
Planet evolution is the game's biggest decision and its least documented one. Costs escalate with every tier and Skydog Games has published no cost table at all, so this planner deliberately asks you to type in the exact number your own game UI shows rather than guessing on your behalf. From there it is straightforward arithmetic: how much cash you still need, how long that takes at your current income, and which checkpoints you have already passed.

How much does planet evolution cost in Mine a Planet?
There is no published cost table. The only figure we have verified is a Tier 3 to Tier 4 upgrade priced at $250,000, read directly off the in-game upgrade sign in July 2026 footage. Costs climb steeply after that. Any site listing a full evolution price list is inventing it — open your own upgrade sign and type that number into the planner.
What does evolving your planet actually do?
The official description calls it a cinematic upgrade that turns your world into a bigger, richer one. In practice it unlocks higher-value ore bands and expands the mining zone. Community footage also shows it resetting your depth progress, so you re-mine from the surface with better ore available — treat it as a prestige step rather than a pure gain.
Should I evolve now or keep mining first?
Run the ETA both ways. If the funding ETA is short, evolving early usually wins because the better ore bands raise income for everything that follows. If the ETA runs into many hours, it is normally worth pushing fleet upgrades first so you arrive at the evolution with a higher income floor. The planner gives you the timings; the call is yours.
