Mine a Planet

Mine a Planet Walkthrough — Beginner to Planet Evolution

Step-by-step walkthrough from your first drone to Planet Evolution, based only on confirmed mechanics — no invented stats.

How to use this walkthrough

This page is one continuous route from your first drone to your first few planet evolutions. It is deliberately different from the guides page, which is organised by topic — here the order is the content, because what you buy at minute ten decides what you can afford at hour three. Every step below rests on mechanics that are either named in the official Roblox description or read off the screen in July 2026 creator footage. Skydog Games has never published an upgrade cost table, a drop rate, or a single patch note, so where a number would normally go you will find an instruction to read your own screen instead. That sounds like a dodge until you notice that the numbers other Mine a Planet walkthroughs print did not come from anywhere either. It pairs with the topical guides, the fleet income calculator, the drone tier list, and the ore page.

  • Phase order matters — this is a route, not a tip list
  • Only two ores are officially named: Azurite near the surface and Aurum far below
  • The fleet stats are officially named as speed, cargo and mining power; their costs are not
  • Rolls are free and unlimited, so rolling is never a spending decision
  • Where a cost is unpublished, use the calculators with your own figures

Phase 1: First 30 Minutes

Your first session sets the pace for everything that follows. The game starts you with a drone fleet that mines automatically. Don't waste time — focus on turning early income into your first fleet upgrades.

Early Game Steps

  1. 1Open Settings (gear icon) and redeem ALL active codes
  2. 2Use the 5-minute Time Skip from the DISCORD code right away for a quick cash boost
  3. 3Spend early cash on fleet upgrades — Mining Power, Cargo, and Speed are the three upgrade stats
  4. 4Keep mining deeper: deeper layers hold rarer, more valuable ore (Azurite near the surface, Aurum far below)
  5. 5Use the Strong Batteries and Super Alien Treat from codes — free items are free value
  6. 6Roll for drones whenever you can — rolls are free and unlimited, and the Luck stat improves your results

When to stop buying Mining Power

The most common early mistake is pouring everything into Mining Power because it is the stat that sounds like progress. Mining Power only controls how fast a drone breaks a block. If that drone fills its cargo hold and flies back to unload, nothing about the trip got faster. Watch one drone through a full cycle and you will see which of three states it spends the most time in: chewing a block, flying, or parked waiting to deposit. A parked drone is the clearest signal in this game — it is income you have already paid for and are not collecting, and Cargo or Speed is what unlocks it. Once nothing in your fleet looks idle, the bottleneck has left the stat panel and the answer becomes another drone. Fleet size is the only lever that re-applies every stat you already own, which is why it compounds hardest this early.

  • Parked drone with a full hold → buy Cargo or Speed, not Mining Power
  • Long empty return flights → buy Speed
  • One drone grinding a block while the rest wait → buy Mining Power
  • Nothing looks idle → buy another drone
  • The DRONES code adds a drone outright, with no rolling involved

Phase 2: The Idle Rhythm

Once your fleet upgrades are rolling and you've pulled some better drones, the game settles into its idle rhythm — check in, collect, upgrade, repeat. Skydog Games has never published patch notes for any version, so exact numbers are community territory; the principles below hold regardless.

  • Balance Mining Power, Cargo, and Speed instead of maxing a single stat
  • Push deeper for rarer ore — the official description teases tiers beyond Aurum
  • Pet Aliens companions are reported to give a passive cash boost (community-observed)
  • Keep rolling — the Drone Index shows 11 rarity tiers, from Common up to Transcendent (observed, July 2026 footage)
  • Check back for new codes after every game update

Mid game: where multipliers take over

Past the first evolution the fleet panel stops being the main story. Three systems multiply what the fleet already earns, and they are what separate a stalled save from one that keeps climbing. Pets are the largest: caught with Alien Balls, deployed on dock platforms, each adding a multiplier plus a global skill — the Legendary Skibidi Toilet was observed granting Global Mining Speed +4%, stacking to a 25% cap. Drone mutations are the second. Gear Shop CPU chips apply a mutation to a drone (their shelf prices are documented chip by chip, with dates, on the mutations page), and filling the mutation index awards cash milestones that step up to a permanent +25% at 100%, the largest documented one-off gain in the game. The third is simply continuing to roll. Rolls are free and unlimited, so every session you spend mining should also be a session spent rolling, and Luck boosts are what change the value of those free pulls.

  • Pets add a platform multiplier plus a global skill — Skibidi Toilet observed at +4% Global Mining Speed, 25% cap (July 2026 footage)
  • Pet levelling scales into the trillions — a level 36 upgrade was priced at $3.25 trillion
  • Gear Shop CPU chips apply a mutation to a drone; per-chip shelf prices are listed with dates on the mutations page
  • Completing the mutation index grants a permanent +25% cash milestone
  • Rolls stay free and unlimited, so Luck is the only thing that changes their value

The run-up to your first evolution

  1. 1Read the price off your own upgrade sign. A Tier 3 to Tier 4 step was priced at $250,000 in July 2026 footage, but your tier and your save decide your number.
  2. 2Time your income over one clean minute with nothing else changing, and write that figure down.
  3. 3Put both numbers into the evolution calculator to get a funding ETA instead of a guess.
  4. 4If the ETA is short, stop upgrading and bank. Evolution raises the ore band under everything, so an upgrade bought afterwards is worth more than the same upgrade bought before it.
  5. 5If the ETA runs into hours, spend on whichever lever your fleet is actually short on, then measure again.
  6. 6Expect depth progress to reset when you evolve — footage shows the dig starting over on the new planet, so finish anything depth-dependent first.
  7. 7Hold your Time Skips until after the evolution lands. A skip is worth your income rate at the moment you use it.

Phase 3: Endgame — Planet Evolution

The endgame goal is Planet Evolution — a cinematic upgrade that transforms your planet, unlocking rarer ore and bigger worlds. Players report that evolving resets your depth progress, so treat each evolution as a fresh climb on a richer planet. Along the way your cash climbs into the billions, and the free roll system dangles its rarest drones at advertised odds of 1-in-25-trillion.

  • Planet Evolution unlocks rarer ore and bigger worlds (official)
  • Evolution resets depth progress — reported by players, so plan for a fresh climb
  • Cash climbs into the billions in the late game (official)
  • The rarest drones are advertised at 1-in-25-trillion odds — keep rolling, it's free
