Mine a Planet BETA 9 "Overclocked!": Everything Confirmed So Far
BETA 9 Overclocked is confirmed for July 25-31, 2026 by Roblox's event API, with mutation crafting and new weather events.

BETA 9 is official now
For a week, "BETA 9: Overclocked" circulated as a single-source rumor. It isn't anymore: Roblox's official virtual-events API lists BETA UPDATE 9 — Overclocked! for Mine a Planet with an exact window:
- Starts: July 25, 2026, 16:55 UTC
- Ends: July 31, 2026, 17:00 UTC
The official teaser text says the update will "add features to craft mutation, and new weather and incidents events." That's all Skydog Games has published — there are no detailed patch notes, which is normal for this game: BETA 8 shipped without any changelog too.
What "craft mutation" likely means
Right now, CPU chips (mutations) are consumables you buy from the Gear Shop for cash — we've documented Clean (500 cash), Mutated (2,500), Radioactive, Solar Flare, UFO, and JellyFish chips in the shop. Removing a mutation destroys the chip, so players hoard the good ones.
"Craft mutation" strongly suggests a way to make chips instead of only buying them — possibly combining lower-tier chips into higher-tier ones, or crafting event-specific chips from event drops. If that's what ships, the value of cheap chips (Clean/Mutated) changes overnight, and the current "save JellyFish/UFO for your Exotics" advice gets even more important.
New weather and incidents
Weather already cycles with combo banners like Solar Flare + UFO and Ion Storm + UFO, and incidents (like a UFO scanning your drones) run on visible countdowns. "New weather and incidents" means more of these — and since weather appears to tie into mutations, expect the new combos to matter for chip strategy too.
What else could drop (unconfirmed)
Not verified — our honest guess list, based on what's visibly unfinished in BETA 8:
- Prismatic and Transcendent drones. The Drone Index has 11 slots across these two top rarities, all still silhouettes in every video we've reviewed. A content drop filling them is the single biggest thing BETA 9 could do.
- The "Rebirths: 0" counter. A dormant prestige counter exists on an in-game panel. BETA 9 could be where it activates.
- The remaining Common pets. 12 Common pet slots exist; only one name is documented.
Treat all three as speculation until the event goes live.
How to prepare this week
- Bank your cash and chips. If crafting arrives, cheap chips may become ingredients.
- Don't blow your Luck upgrades chasing Prismatic before it exists — roll for a solid Mythic/Secret backbone instead.
- Redeem every active code (UPDATE8, DISCORD, UPDATE7, BETABETA, DRONES) — free batteries, treats, and a Drone Pack before the meta shifts.
- Time your planet evolution so you're mid-tier, not mid-reset, when the event starts.
We'll be refreshing our drones, mutations, and updates pages within hours of BETA 9 going live — and our calculators the moment real new odds are visible in-game.
